đŸ’« SneakHer Story: The Sole Wash Journey

Explore Sole Wash

At Sole Wash, we believe sneakers are more than just footwear—they are cultural artifacts, tools for self-expression, and powerful catalysts for sustainability and community impact. What began under the umbrella of Footage Society, a leading sneaker boutique in Laurel, MD, established in 2015 - 2025, evolved into a pioneering movement in sneaker care.

Founded in 2015 by three visionary entrepreneurs—including Tyler, the son of Sole Wash co-founder Nichole Verdejo—Sole Wash emerged from a shared passion for sneaker culture, craftsmanship, and community service. By 2019, Sole Wash officially became a sister company to Footage Society, and in Spring 2021, we proudly expanded into the heart of Washington, D.C.

Nichole’s leadership has shaped Sole Wash into a recognized name in sneaker cleaning, restoration, and recycling. Our eco-conscious mission has led to collaborations with powerhouse organizations like the Smithsonian National Museum of African American History and Culture and the WNBA’s Washington Mystics. Sole Wash has been spotlighted by top-tier media including Nice Kicks, AARP, DCFray, HillRag, Fox Baltimore, and WTOP News, a testament to the social and environmental impact we're making.

As the first woman to own a sneaker laundry storefront, Nichole—known on Instagram as @ricanpowergirl—is breaking barriers as an Afro-Latina trailblazer in a male-dominated industry. Her story resonates deeply with entrepreneurs, creatives, and sustainability advocates. She is a highly sought-after keynote speaker, panelist, and workshop facilitator, known for inspiring talks that blend fashion, culture, entrepreneurship, and environmental responsibility.

🌎 Empowering Community Through Sustainability

Sole Wash isn’t just a service—it’s a movement. We’ve donated thousands of sneakers to nonprofits, collaborated with Goodwill on thrifting and upcycling programs, and worked with over 200 small businesses to advance sustainability in fashion and footwear.

Our expertise spans textile science, sneaker customization, and eco-friendly restoration techniques, ensuring every sneaker we handle is treated with premium care. From suede to mesh, leather to knit, we use top-tier products and custom methods to bring your favorite kicks back to life.
